FAQ

Still building my list of FAQ.  If you have one you would like to submit, then send it via the contact form please!

  • Q:  Can I extend the length of my current seine?  A: YES, as long as it is a legal length (GA residents can max out @ 99' 11") I charge $2.50 per ft plus tax (where applicable) with a $15 splicing fee.  *Note*, meshes smaller than 5/8" or nylon will be subject to a higher rate.  Current drop off points are in Brunswick, GA or Port St. Lucie, FL.  Or just fill out the contact form and we will arrange for shipping.

  • Q: Do you make any other sizes than what is listed?  A: I do, however they are all special orders.  This does not mean that the pricing will have any extra fees tacked on, since the only difference is that I order what I need from the supplier as opposed to just holding it in stock.

  • Q: Will a seine work for cleaning a pond?  A: YES, I have sold a number of seines for customers needing to clean their ponds.  I also have confirmed callbacks from them saying that the seines really helped.  Remember, the seines won't break under weight, but they will rip from a tree stump or shells.  Don't worry about filling the net up with resistance, they do a pretty good job at holding up.

  • Q: I am only 5'10" why would I need an 8' deep net or deeper?  A: The depth of the net has NOTHING to do with your height or how deep into the water you are going.  The float line will be attached to the poles @ 5.5' and the difference creates a pocket in the seine for holding more catch.  So if you have a 10' net, then you will have appox a 4.5' pocket of extra netting to hold more catch.

  • Q: Am I ordering a complete seine with floats at the top and weights at the bottom?  A: YES!  What you pay for is 100% out of the bag ready to connect to a set of poles and use right away.

  • Q: Do you sell just the netting so I can build or repair my own seine.  A: Only under rare circumstance do I sell just the netting.  The primary reason being that I buy enough for my seines from my supplier and don't feel comfortable marking it up just to resell.  However, I will give you my suppliers number depending on the situation.

  • Q: I heard that you need a commerical fishing license to seine in FL is this true?  A: "Beach or haul seines measuring no larger than 500 square feet of mesh area, no larger than 2 inches stretched mesh size, not constructed of monofilament, and legibly marked at both ends with the harvester’s name and address if a Florida resident. Non-residents using beach or haul seines for recreational purposes are required to have a commercial saltwater products license and legibly mark the seine at both ends with the harvester’s saltwater products license number. Beach or haul seines may be used as harvesting gear for the following species only: black drum, bluefish, cobia, flounder, mullet, Florida pompano, red drum, sheepshead, shrimp, Spanish mackerel, weakfish and unregulated species."  ~source: http://www.eregulations.com/florida/fishing/saltwater/recreational-gear/

  • Q: I live outside of the USA, but I can't get my order to ship through Google Checkout.  Do you allow orders to other countries?  A: Yes, just fill out the contact form with your PayPal info and your order and I'll reply with a shipping cost to add to the final total.  Then I will send a PayPal invoice and your order will ship!
  • Q: GA law permits seines "up to a hundred feet" why do you carry a hudred foot seine?  A: My 100' seines have been called that for many decades and but I make sure that each 5/8" seine is made "up to a hundred feet" so it will come out around 99' 10" or so keeping you in the legal limit.
